The trace exposure from handling this wood is minuscule and entirely safe for everyday use. If you are allergic or sensitive to camphor, we recommend discontinuing use. Lucky Dipper Honey Dipper

Lucky Dipper Honey Dipper
$19.99

Stylish, functional and the perfect amount of honey for tea, coffee and not greedy people’s toast . Made on the lathe by me every honey dipper is unique. When I started making these I named them a ‘lucky dipper’ it was a lucky dip as to what style and species of timber I made. I have since standardised them, but it is still a lucky dip as to what colours and grain patterns you get (and its a cool name).

Casuarina Yakisugi pot - 'Burnie I'

Casuarina Yakisugi pot - 'Burnie I'
$74.99

Hand turned on the lathe by me from locally sourced Casuarina timber. The prominent medullary rays when burned, retain their shape as the softer surrounding timber is removed, creating a beautifully textured surface. This is then scrubbed to remove loose charcoal and sealed with oil to protect and highlight its features. Yakisugi is the traditional Japanese technique originally used to protect soft timbers like cedar for a harsh outdoor environment. However, it can be used on any timber to create a unique and durable surface.

This form I named Burnie as it reminds me of an old man weathered, cracked and sunburned yet full of experience and stories.

Pallet Tea Candle Holder Tall
$44.99

Made from a recycled pine pallet block, nail holes and all. Each piece is distinctly individual, and has been turned and burned to create the unique raised grain patterns you see.

If you are lucky enough to get your hands on one of my earlier pieces, they may be worth a fortune one day when I’m famous. For the moment you will just have to wonder why they are all slightly different styles. As time goes on and I get some feedback I will settle on the style that is either most popular or I like the most.

This form I have named for the common name of the timber I used. Something about this shape reminds me of the bark on a Casuarina Tree. Rough but almost uniform in its ruggedness.

Pallet Tea Candle Holder Small Pallet Tea Candle Holder Small

Pallet Tea Candle Holder Small
$39.99

Made from pine from a recycled pallet. Each piece is distinctly individual while maintaining a consistent form. Full of smoothly turned curves which are then burned to create the unique raised grain patterns you see. Coated in a protective coat mixture of linseed or lemon oil and beeswax.

As usual I like to include a little optional story about the significance of these pieces. They are not only elegant, unique and (another word that means elegant), they are special. Why? Because I made them of course! What a silly question.

All joking aside, our world is becoming bland, cookie cutter, oversaturated with AI developed content and products, all carried out by a machine (technically made by a human, yes), but not made by a human. There is something unexplainable about a piece with imperfect imperfections. A natural object, manicured but left a little bit natural. I am a romanticist at heart, but I can tell and appreciate the difference. I just hope you can too.
